This new electric model will be available in two distinct configurations: a classic four-door sedan and a sporty five-door hatchback tailored for the European market. While the EV4 boasts a modern design and unique styling, its performance specs reveal a practical yet powerful electric vehicle. With a single front motor providing 150 kW of power, the EV4 achieves a respectable 0-62 mph time of just 7.4 seconds. However, it is essential to note that this model relies on a 400-volt E-GMP platform, which, though slower in charging capabilities compared to the higher-end 800-volt systems utilized in vehicles like the Hyundai Ioniq 5, still supports a quick charge from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 31 minutes.

Kia has announced plans for initial production of the EV4 sedan in Korea, with the European hatchback version being manufactured in Slovakia. The EV4 is expected to debut in March, while its hatchback counterpart will arrive later in 2024. Price-wise, the EV4 is projected to start at around 37,000 euros (approximately $38,500), making it a competitive option against rivals such as the Tesla Model 3. Meanwhile, the EV2 is anticipated to fill a market gap for budget-friendly electric vehicles in regions where affordability is crucial.
